I was skimming around on the Internet and I found this article.  It is a study about abortion.  And reasons people got them.  One thing I found interesting was that "abortion patients were offended and angered by what they had to confront after making this difficult decision.  Over half of the patients surveyed encountered anti-abortion protesters outside the clinic, and more than 80% of these patients felt that the protesters outside the clinic, and more than 80% of these patients felt that the protesters' actions constituted an invasion of privacy."  I never really thought of it that way.  A while ago I was completely against abortion and with my youth group we stood outside the abortion clinic.  Now I am pro-choice but I hope that people pick life.  I think that people need to respect other peoples decisions.  It should be each women's own choice because not everyone uses it as birth control and I think people shouldn't influence other peoples decisions.

I think that it is terrible for people to stand outside of the clinic protesting abortion. If they are against it, that is perfectly fine, but there is a line of privacy and respect that they are crossing. I don't believe that the women getting the procedure done on them are heartless or without consciouses or feelings, so when they finish with what I assume would be a very emotionally difficult procedure, these people in their face outside would be a terrible experience. If one is against abortion and they feel the need to protest, they should do it in a general area where protecting women's privacy wouldn't be an issue.

I immediately got a picture of the scene in Juno where Juno encounters the protester outside the clinic. It was this protester that told her the fetus inside her had fingernails, which Juno was oblivious to initially. After hearing this information, Juno decides to go through with the pregnancy and ends up making a woman the happiest woman alive by giving her her baby. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with protesting outside an abortion clinic. The beauty about America is we all have the right to petition and protest. I don't think this right should be taken away from American citizens.

I think people should respect other people choices and I fear that protests can become hateful and unsafe. I think a peaceful protest is the only way to protest, but outside of an abortion clinic is not right. In a healthcare setting you have the right to privacy and by protesting people are calling attention to these women and they are losing their right to privacy. Not cool.

"When anti-abortion philosophers suggest that women seeking abortion are irresponsible, childless, selfish people who are merely inconvenienced by
pregnancy, they are simply wrong. More interesting is that they seem to be advocating that irresponsible, selfish people should become parents. Bearing
and raising a child involves a deep, lasting commitment. Women know that. Abortion patients know that; most of them are already parents, struggling alone to support their children."

I wonder if protesters have ever had a conversation with someone who is an reproductive-rights advocate and considered why women have abortions.
