Not only are there articles on "How to Get Your Guy Back" but there is also a lot on the girl getting the guy.  Covers of magazines tell are telling girls how to get a boyfriend and what they need to change in order to get them.  There are movies all over on how the girl tries to get the guy.  Where are all the movies where there is a strong women who doesn't need a man to help her out.  Here is one example, its not the best but its the only one that is coming to mind.  Baby Mama.  I like the movie because it shows a women who has earned her way to the top of a company and is providing for herself.  She also wants to have kinds and doesn't have a man to do it with so she goes to a sperm bank.  In the end she does end up with the guy but it wasn't what she was looking for.  I think that magazines and television shows and movies need to show more of that.  There is nothing wrong with dating and getting married, but women can support themselves and have fulfilling lives with out doing so and I think that there needs to more showing that and less of the stories in magazines and the movies that are influencing younger girls that they need to be "rescued" by "prince charming".

I think that the articles about "How to get your perfect man" are a little ridiculous, but that doesn’t mean i don’t read them. hah. I mean, i believe we all want to know how to do something right, that’s why there are a million different self help books. But let’s be honest, do any of them really work?
I liked that you put Baby Mama in your article; i thought that movie was hilarious.
i totally agree with your last statement that women can support themselves and don’t need a man. I personally don’t want to get married until i know i can fully support myself...so i don’t think ill ever get married haha. but anyways i liked your blog a lot this past week.

I also agree and think they are kind of ridiculous but at the same time most of us can admit to reading these crazy articles. I don't do it cause i think its realistic, i do it when i have nothing else do to. I mean i love reading magazines, but i don't believe everything they say. I don't necessarily agree with your last comment. Like when we played monopoly in class we learned that couples bringing in two incomes did better, but i mean this totally fluctuates, so i understand where your coming from. And yes movies need to stop portraying the "prince charming" story cause it never happens!
